Old Lessons I Still Need to Learn

I have been cleaning out some old papers.  I came across this personal note I wrote to myself.  I don’t remember when I wrote it.  The best date for this, that I can figure out, is sometime between 1996 and 2003.  My children were still quite small then.

Nick has been really sick this week with strep and flu.  I will dedicate this blog entry to Him.  The title I had on the note was “Lessons My Son Has Taught Me.”

1. Don’t hold a grudge.

2. Be glad and excited to see a loved one when they return.

3. A genuine smile is contagious.

4. Energy is not always productive.

5. Just because something is within our reach it is not necessary in our need.

6. Rejection is one of life’s most traumatic experiences.

7. It is easier to dodge obstacles with the lights on.

8. When you hurt, all you want is for the pain to go away.

9. Keep your heart tender.

10. Don’t forget little sister.

And with it was one more learned from my daughter…

11. If you are cute, you get away with a lot more.
