Vote Values on Nov. 4 or before

While I do not endorse all the things presented on these websites, you may find them helpful in determining which candidates most closely match your values.  I will be voting according to my values in this year's elections.

Family Research Council

On another note, I now regret buying a Mac.  Here is a copy of the email they sent me today:
"Apple is publicly opposing Proposition 8 and making a donation of $100,000 to the No on 8 campaign. Apple was among the first California companies to offer equal rights and benefits to our employees’ same-sex partners, and we strongly believe that a person’s fundamental rights — including the right to marry — should not be affected by their sexual orientation. Apple views this as a civil rights issue, rather than just a political issue, and is therefore speaking out publicly against Proposition 8."
California's Proposition 8 is a state constitutional amendment to outlaw gay marriage.
Anybody know a good alternative to iTunes?

I assume your regret, from a moral point of view, is somewhat tied to the fact of what the company, of which you apparently "support", has done with "your" money. I guess on one hand I can understand this, but on the other I would have to challenge you with other ways you spend your money. I would bet the farm that many of the companies you "support," do things with their money that you would never do. If you feel a certain way, then by all means exercise that right and conviction, but do so exhaustively, with all the companies. Don't limit to just one, or a few, for that matter.

Maybe that's why the Amish have it figured out?

Be careful what you assume. Where is the apparent "support" you find? (And why does it need to be in quotation marks?) The nine word sentence I published only expressed regret. Perhaps I should have been clearer. As the title of this post said, I vote values. When my values conflict with another's values, I go with my values over the ones they hold. Therefore I expressed a vote against Apple. Unfortunately, I could not undo my previous vote for them, therefore the regret.

You will notice also that Apple sent an email message to me. Why is Apple emailing me? Apple has become a spammer and a political activist, which is part of the irony of their statement. By the way, Apple's political activism is not the only reason for my regret, much of it has to do with their product.

I agree, it is always good advice to be careful where one spends one's money.
