Won't Preach

I have been trying to find a way to fit the following true story into a sermon:

A man attempted to pass a $360 billion check at a bank in Ft. Worth. He claims the check was given to him by his girlfriend’s mother to start a record business.

Charles Ray Fuller, 21, of Crowley, Texas was arrested on April 22 on an accusation of forgery. Police responded to a report of a man attempting to pass the check about 4 p.m. that day at the Chase bank on South Hulen Street in Fort Worth. The personal check was not made out to Mr. Fuller and when the bank contacted the check owner, the woman said she did not write a check for $360 billion.

Mr. Fuller was also accused of unlawful carrying of a weapon and possession of marijuana. He may also face a theft charge in Crowley.

The police lieutenant in charge of the investigation said he did not know if Mr. Fuller and his girlfriend were still together.

I have been preaching through the book of Titus, which is an excellent primer on church growth. I have really enjoyed the series and find myself energized by the texts. However, try as I have, I have not been able to work this story into the messages. I have to conclude that stupid just won't preach.
